The most expensive wood in the world is agarwood, the Aquilaria tree itself does not have any exceptional quality until it is infected by mold. It is popularly known as the ‘The Wood Of God’ and it costs thousands of dollars. It has both cultural and religious value The healthy and the infected agarwood is separated and harvested the wood chips are carved out by hands called the oud chips. Oud is popularly used in the Middle East as a cultural norm and that is why agarwood buyers in Dubai prefer it over anything. But today the agarwood has become rare and is being sold at skyrocketing prices.
