My lips being dry has to be one of my biggest pet peeves. I keep at least one lip balm in my bag at all times because of this. Lip care is extremely important because our lips can experience dryness really easily due to not having sweat glands. Without sweat glands, the lips don’t have a natural source of moisture besides the saliva that comes from excessively licking them. Although licking your lips can be a quick way to add some moisture to your lips, there are more effective methods out there like lip balms. Here are some great lip balms that help prevent dry lips from making an appearance.

Vaseline Lip Therapy

Vaseline lip therapy is my #1 go-to when it comes to lip balms. I usually stick to the original that comes in the tube, but the Rosy Lips Lip Therapy is also nice for when you want your lips to have a little tint while also being moisturized. It’s no secret that Vaseline contains petroleum jelly which is why Lip Therapy is such an effective lip balm. Petroleum jelly keeps the skin’s moisture in while keeping bacteria out.

Fenty Beauty Pro Kiss’R Lip-Loving Scrubstick

The Lip-Loving Scrubstick from Fenty Beauty is an interesting one. Lip scrubs are common and often seen in skincare lines, but a lip scrub in stick form? That’s different. Lip scrubs can be a bit messy when applying them, but the scrub stick makes application an easy and clean process. What makes this product great for moisturizing dry lips is the use of natural oils. Coconut oil, sunflower seed oil, castor oil, and jojoba oil all make an appearance in the Lip-Loving Scrubstick.

Dr. Paw Paw

Dr. Paw Paw is a cruelty-free lip balm that uses the power of papaya to moisturize dry lips. This lip balm contains not only papaya but also aloe vera and olive oil. When it comes to choosing lip balms that help prevent dry lips, papaya is a great ingredient to look for because it contains natural enzymes that help remove the buildup that occurs on the lips.

Kaike Lip Frosting

Just like a nice fluffy piece of strawberry cake, your lips need moisture too. That’s where Lip Frosting by Kaike Cosmetics comes in at. Lip Frosting is made up of amazing ingredients to help your lips keep their moisture and shine. Mango butter, coconut oil, castor oil, and candelilla wax can all be found in the recipe for this special kind of frosting. Candelilla wax is an alternative to beeswax that comes from a shrub and is high in fatty acids and resin. These properties make it a great substitute when it comes to beauty products and specifically lip care products.

Lavender Vanilla Chai Big Balm by Zandra Beauty

The Big Balm from Zandra Beauty provides great moisture for your lips with an even greater message. Each Big Balm includes ingredients such as shea butter, beeswax, avocado oil, and vitamin E as well as a handwritten message from Ms. Zandra herself. Vitamin E proves to be a great component of lip balms due to its soothing nature. What more could you want from a lip balm that not only soothes but also encourages young girls to be confident through Zandra’s message?

A Little DIY Lip Balm

Most of us have probably tried making our own lip balms and scrubs from household ingredients like sugar, honey, and lemon, and why shouldn’t we? Like many of the lip balms mentioned, you can make your own lip moisturizer from similar natural ingredients to have on hand whenever you may need it. When you do it yourself, you can often experiment better with different ingredients to make the best lip balm that suits your needs.
