The word accessory can mean anything. When you think about it, an accessory is something you add to your outfit so that it conforms to your style, so it’s no wonder why we all have our favorites. I’m personally a big fan of jewelry, and I’ve been warming up to hats, but what about everything in between? From hats and jewelry to socks and scarves, we’ve taken 11 amazing accessories and ranked them. Let’s see if you agree on where they stand.

1. Jewelry

jewelry

You can’t start any accessories list off right without mentioning jewelry first. Between the different types like earrings and necklaces, and the different metals like gold and silver, this is a broad category that supplies plenty of variation. I personally always add at least one piece of jewelry to all my outfits even if I’m just going to the grocery store.

2. Socks

Socks can be pretty equal to jewelry in all honesty. I love socks, especially the patterned ones! Socks are such a fun accessory that can be worn in any season plus you can get really festive for the holidays.

3. Bags

bags

Let’s see, we have purses, totes, backpacks, clutches, I mean the list can go on and on. There is a bag out there for everyone in at least 14 designs across 10 brands and in 20 different colors. I’m a fan of smaller bags because they provide just enough space to carry everything I need without being an annoyance. Larger bags are nice too, but mainly in backpack form.

4. Hair Clips

Hair clips come in handy when you don’t know what to do with your hair, or if you want to add a little pizzazz to your outfit. I think they are so cute and i’ve found that more intricate, glamourous locking hair clips are making waves. Hair clips give you just enough to make a statement without saying too much.

5. Hats

Accessories

Hats are a classic kind of accessory that I’m now finding interesting and useful. I understand their appeal. Fedoras, wide-brim hats, bucket hats, baseball caps, etc make the hat category a very versatile one. Hats can be dressed up or dressed down, so they are a great accessory that collaborates well with others.

6. Tights

Tights, like socks, are also great to have during any season. They go well with skirts and dresses, but they also go well with shorts . Tights are for sure one accessory that can be flipped around to fit any style.

7. Pins

Pins and enamels pins are amazing! They come in different styles, designs and themes and you can even collect them. There are so many fantastic pin makers out there designing creative pins that you can use to express yourself and the things you love whether that be through your jackets, bags or other pieces of clothing.

8. Sunglasses

Sunglasses are very common when it comes to discussing accessories. I’ve even found myself talking about them more. As someone who’s always wearing prescription glasses, there just wasn’t any room for sunglasses, but now I’ve found ways to incorporate them into my outfits.

9. Belts

belts

I appreciate that belts have both a functional and fashion-driven purpose. Belts can be very simplistic but they can also be quite dramatic too. It all depends on what you are looking for. I like the simple nature of belts more then the exaggerated belt buckles, but then again belts aren’t something I pay alot of attention too.

10. Scarves

The main reason why scarves are ranked above gloves is because of the versatility that comes with them. Gloves are pretty one-note, but you can do a lot with scarves. They can be used to keep your neck warm, evidence as to why scarves are on every fall checklist, or as a hair accessory. The many different patterns that scarves can be found in is another good reason to make this accessory apart of your outfit.

11. Gloves

gloves

I have nothing against gloves. They keep your hands warm and everything, but gloves don’t really say much. There are the fingerless fishnet ones that ring their own bell, but gloves overall are kind of expressionless.
